Do you feel less attended by your Facebook friends now when you post things like status messages, photos and links on Facebook ? Fell very sad when non of your friends Liked or commented about your newly uploaded pick which you took at your favorite restaurant? [...]
Well is i am becoming Unpopular? Many of my friend asked me about this. Well I just want to say to them and to everyone that don't fell so bad. It is not all your flat. The problem is that a large chunk of your contact list can't see anything you post.
Only 12% of your friends on average see your status update. Yes it is true. well in fact your post will be no even appeared on other friends newsfeed. Well Here is a Infographic Titled ”Who will see my Posts” that i created with all interesting things i learned when i do a little research about this serious matter.
According to Josh Constine’s post on TechCrunch Average Facebook post only reaches 12% of friends, And Actively shared links photos, and Status updates reach more than 12%.
The "New Facebook" has a Newsfeed sorting algorithm named EdgeRank (which works like Google's Search Algorithm) Which by default is automatically set to show ONLY posts from people you've recently interacted with or have interacted the most with.
In simple English most of your Facebook updates are only seen by your Closest buddies(Yaa on Facebook ).
This sometimes create a situation where the same circle of people are commenting and you are not hearing from anyone else. Yes it is evil ….Very evil for number one social networking site.
In case of Business pages meanwhile only get 16% of their fans seeing each post,And this seems to be due to the new Facebook promote feature which encourages you to engage in Facebook advertising to increase the reach and be seen by more Facebook followers and their friends.
The official statement from Facebook on this is:
“ We’re constantly testing new features across the site. This particular test is simply to gauge people’s interest in this method of sharing with their friends. ”
As far as now Facebook has received negative feedback to this new change. The service has always been free for users, and a pay-for-popularity feature could be a huge turn off.
