How To Remove Ads From uTorrent

If you use uTorrent you may have noticed that after the latest update, it now has ads.The three ad slots in uTorrent is not exactly an eye sore, but if you are a long time uTorrent user, then you might have a problem with uTorrent trying to capitalize[...]. The newer version is worth updating to, it’s more secure and has less problems with connecting to seeds and peers. And they have also introduced more Ads in the app itself.

The ads, which promote various software, like Facebook Lite for Desktop - not an official app, are made to look somewhat like a regular torrent would. But they are separated from the active torrents list and have a yellowish background, like Google's search ads, which should make them different enough for people to realize they're ads.

It seems many weren't happy with the idea of sponsored content polluting their feeds, and now BitTorrent Inc., the parent company of uTorrent, is rushing to appease its users. BitTorrent needs to make some money, but people were obviously annoyed at the idea of having ads inside their app.

it seems that the option to remove them is a bit too complicated for most people. Because you will not find any close button near Ads or any direct option to disable ads in menu. Even nowhere mentioned in its website or even highlighted by the company.

So what to do?

However, you can remove the ads. It’s easy.,

Go to Options > Preferences

>Advanced and find

"offers.left_rail_offer_enabled" and "offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled."

Set them both to "false" and you're done.
